The global subscribers of 5G network services may increase to 400 million by 2022, according to a report. This development can the global telecommunication industry. According to a report that was released by industry tracker Ovum, the 5G network services will make a debut in 2019 and will slowly expand across the world and reach 45 countries and 120 mobile networks by the end of 2021.

The 5G network technology increases data transmission speed by 40-50 times compared to the networks we have now. The industry sped up the development of 5G standards in March so be able to launch commercial services by 2019. This is a year earlier than planned deployment timeline. Ovum had earlier suggested that the number of 5G subscribers will increase to 25 million. In South Korea, SK Telecom Co. and its competitor KT Corp. are competing to launch Korea’s first commercialized 5G network service by 2019.
