Which girl doesn’t want a fairy tale wedding? The wedding function is a once a lifetime thing which one wants to make perfect in every possible way. If you are looking for the latest trends in Pakistani bridal fashion then you are at the right place.
Make-up
This year most brides as well as the make-up artists have gone for a more natural type of make-up look, especially where the base is concerned. Instead of going for a drastic change in tone, go for the natural glow in your bridal make-up. Another interesting trend has been the combination of winged eye-liner with bold lips. This can help enhance your features greatly as almost everyone looks great in winged eye-liner. If you are wearing a darker colour, then you can go for the smoky eye-shadow as well.
Jewellery
Most designers are now recommending to go for lighter but beautiful and unique jewellery, instead of wearing too much jewellery that overpowers the rest of your bridal look. Maatha patti has also been a recent favourite jewellery item for most Pakistani brides. The best thing about them is that there are just so many ways you can wear them. If you want a simple look you can just wear the pendant style, or if you are looking for a heavier one then there are the ones with side chains that cover the forehead. Many brides are now wearing the maatha pattis made out of gota and these create beautiful and unique mehndi looks. Just remember to try all the different styles before the final selection, so you can choose the one that best suits your face cut and looks.
Dresses
The bridal dress selection is definitely the most important and time consuming part if you are planning a wedding. This year there has been a trend of wearing multi coloured dresses for mehndi, particularly in neon colours. When it comes to barat dresses, red has always been a favourite but now it is being combined with so many different colours that the dress gets a completely different look. For example, two of my favourites have been the combination of mint green and red, as well as peach and red. Just remember to choose a dress and colour which suits your skin tone and body shape. The materials that most designers have chosen for barat and mehndi dresses this year include the natural fabrics like chiffon or jamawar. Though net has also been a favourite for walima dresses this year.
