Rank #0 On Google Search Results
The 0th position in on the result page of search engines is also called featured snippet.
Featured Snippet
A featured snippet is shown on the top of the SERP (search Engine Result Page) as a box. As you probably already know, results, excluding ads, are displayed with their title and a little description. On the other hand, a large segment of the content is displayed for featured snippets. A featured snippet enable’s Google users to have an idea about the content before they click the link. This feature isn’t fully available on smartphones yet. But chances are that they will be available on mobile phones too, soon.

How To Rank #0 on Google
As you must have guessed already, it is not that easy. Even ranking on the first page of the search result is not easy, let alone ranking #0. On a positive note, even if you don’t rank #0 after all the seo work you do, you will still get a boost in your ranking. You do not have to hit the #1 spot first to go on #0. Many featured snippets are from posts that rank #2 to #5. This is because Google value relevance more than ranks for featured snippets. So if a post at #4 is more relevant for a search term, it will be chosen for the featured snippet.
Be Relevant
A nice way to be relevant is to get straight to the point. Do not wander away from your topic. Give the information your readers came for. If you do this, it will be easier for Google’s algorithm to parse your sentences. Google will then give you more relevance point. This will increase your chances on landing on featured snippets.
Inverted Pyramids
Writing in inverted pyramids style is also a good way to make content relevant. This is something that journalists do. To use this style, give your audience a summary of your post at the beginning. Then as you proceed, give more detailed information. This is helpful because readers will be able to see if that article has the information they were looking for.

Longform Content
Another way is using longform content. Longform content is a post that contains at least 1,200 words. It may seem a lot, but you will have to go that extra mile for better ranking. But do not write long, low quality posts just to have a bigger post. Pay attention to every word that you write. Do some keyword research too. Use SEMRush or any other tool to find out which keywords are relevant to you. Then write content accordingly. Find terms that are easier to rank for. These are usually the ones that are not so competitive. Write great content on those terms. This will increase your chances of ranking #0 on Google.
Answer Questions
Google loves to provide the answer to questions in the featured snippet box. You can increase your chances of being in the featured snippet box if your post answers a question asked on Google search box. Make sure your posts solves a problem or answers a question. It is also a good idea to make the title of your post a question. Repeat the question in the content too. Provide the answer in your post. As we all know, Google loves to answer questions.
You have to work very hard to make your post rank #0 on Google but it will be so worth it. If you succeed, your page will be at the top of SERP, and it will standout from the rest of the links. It will also be prestigious because Google will be highlighting your content. Even if you get some of your posts ranked 0, it can do a lot for your website/blog in terms of traffic. A website whose post is chosen as a featured snippet is something of a novelty. People automatically attach worth and authority to it.
