Although Qualcomm is about to release Snapdragon 845 processor this month, some developers on Twitter have said Qualcomm’s first 7nm processor is in the development stage. The processor will be Snapdragon 855 and will be mass produced in the second half of next year.

The news has been leaked from LinkedIn, a professional social networking site. Roland Quand tweeted something tha he spotted on the Linkedin profile of Qualcomm’s senior software engineer George Fang. He found that George is developing the low-level Linux 845 and 855 Linux driver.Samsung had previously mentioned 7nm chip in the second half of next year when it will be in mass production, which coincides with the current news.

Last month, foreign media news website Benchlife broke the news that Qualcomm will hold a summit in mid-October in Hong Kong where it will officially announce Snapdragon 845 processor. This processor will be released by the end of this year. In early 2018, the first Snapdragon 845 flagship machine will be launched.

Many news analysts believe that Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S9 which will be released in the first half of next year is likely to be the first mobile phone equipped with this processor, and Samsung will also occupy more Snapdragon 845 shipments. At the end of this period, Snapdragon 845 will face competition from Apple’s A11 processor.
