OnePlus 3 model could come with 6GB of RAM

Apr 26, 2016 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

After OnePlus 2, it is only logical that the name of the next flagship smartphone is going to be named OnePlus 3 and just like the smartphones before, this one is going to have beefed up specifications and will probably be sold for less than what current flagship devices are being sold for. Coming to the hardware specs of OnePlus 3, according to the latest leak from both GFXBench and Geekbench, OnePlus 3 is going to feature more RAM than your average laptop.

Since OnePlus is used to selling more than one flagship model, we have a feeling that this one is going to have the best of the best hardware, while the other one might have 4GB of RAM. The chipset running in OnePlus 3 is quite obvious; since all previous flagship models have been running chipsets belonging to Qualcomm, the upcoming one will be running a Snapdragon 820.

Currently, there is no information if the Kryo processor will be running at top speeds or not, but looking at smartphones like Xiaomi Mi5, it is definitely possible that OnePlus 3 will have two models running varied processor clock speeds. The one featuring the best of the best hardware specifications will feature the processor running at its top speed, while the second model will be running at a much slower speed. While this will not make any real-world difference to the experience of the user, we are hoping this time that OnePlus 3 actually comes with an expandable storage slot.

Seeing such crucial features missing from a phone hurts our soul, and while we know that companies remove this feature to retain the build integrity of the smartphone, it becomes more than just a nuisance in maintaining our storage by deleting and replacing older files. Slip in a microSD card and all of those troubles will be a thing of the past.

Right now, 6GB of RAM might be overkill for a flagship smartphone such as OnePlus 3, but here’s to hoping that the upcoming smartphone actually comes with a storage slot.
