Nubia M2 Review

Oct 13, 2017 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Nubia M2 Review – Products in the mid-high range of the market are becoming more and more valid and complete and Nubia has certainly not been watching. Dual camera, an extremely large battery in a thin body and a sleek design are the sleeves in the sleeve that he has equipped with his new smartphone.

But will it all be enough to carve a space of relevance in this market segment?Let’s find out in our review of Nubia M2 .

The Nubia M2 has a hardware that puts it in the midrange range: SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 , octa-core with a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz, accompanied by the Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory expandable via microSD by sacrificing one of the two SIMs.

Connectivity is pretty good with WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n Dual Band, Wi-Fi Hotspot and Tethering, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual NanoSIM support with DSDStechnology, including bandwidth support of the 4G LTE bandwidth. The only real lack is NFC. There are also no reception issues regarding the data connection. Good phone.

As for geolocation, there are A-GPS, Glonass and BDS technologies, without any particular problems to report.

The crucial point of the Nubia M2 review is the design, in which the company has placed a cautious manic. The body is completely matte black metal, with soft and slightly streaked lines that combine with golden finishes along all edges give it a sophisticated and elegant look . The sensation at the visual and material level is definitely premium, and of course the red insertion around the camera module gives the last touch of class.

The body is very thin, with dimensions of 154.6 x 76 x 7 mm at a weight of 168 grams. The ergonomics are good because the side edges are quite firm and the resulting grip is not bad.

The layout of the elements sees the power button and the SIM carriage on the right, the volume bar on the left and the bottom find the 3.5mm jack, the speaker, the main microphone and the Type-C USB connector .

On the front there is an integrated fingerprint reader in the home capacitive key. The sensor works well, but in aesthetic terms the red circle drawn inside is the only big flaw in an otherwise high-level design.

The Nubia M2 display is a 5.5-inch FullHD AMOLED panel. Although the paper promises well, it may be the less convincing component: the temperature is too hot, the colors are vague and are too dense and the contrast is excessive. Added to this, a slight brightness of the brightness and unobtrusive viewing angles.

The mono speaker on the bottom has a high volume, but it fails to clean the sound and if it is pushed to the maximum grab a bit.

The Nubia M2 does not neglect the photo gallery where there is a 13MP f / 2.0 dual-mode module, one RGB and one black and white with dual flash LEDs on the back, and a single 16-megapixel f / 2.0 camera with 2 μm wide pixels on the front, assisted in the software by illuminating the display to simulate a flash.

The software is the true strength of Nubia in the photographic sector thanks to its intuition and ease of use, accompanied by a large number of features. In fact, there are real-time filters, a portrait mode to create an accentuated bokeh effect by leveraging dual cameras and 16 creative modes to make your shots more special.

The quality of the shots is not the same as the high end of the market. The details captured are not very high and are somewhat kneaded, but especially when the light decreases considerably and the noise becomes particularly present. As for the dual camera taking black and white does not have any particular advantage over the amount of captured details, while in portrait mode the effect is pleasant – but not perfect – if the subject in the foreground is well-defined, otherwise it’s fatigue.

The selfies are fine as details, although the capture angle of the camera is not very high, while for video there is the ability to record in 4K and 1080p at 60 fps , but in this subframe it lacks stabilization only digital.

From the combination of 3600 mAh and Snapdragon 625, the battery could only be one of the cornerstones of the Nubia M2 review . With an intense use I managed to arrive at night with 6 hours and a half of active display and 30% remaining charge, while with a bland usage mostly under WiFi I came to two days and a half of use with 5 hours of display .

Nubia M2 has Nubia UI 4.0 on board, based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The interface is graphically cured, but the application drawer lacks. In the stock launcher and then with a down swipe the search server opens, not very intuitive since usually this gesture leads to the notifications tendency.

There are not many preinstalled apps in the system , except the Nubia utilities, and those present are graphically consistent and well-functioning.You can also restrict access to certain apps with a password or fingerprint entry request.

There are many system features, including very particular gestures on the edges that allow you to navigate open apps, change the brightness or even go back with a double tap on the board. But besides this, there are gestures that can be switched with multiple fingers and the ability to duplicate some apps to have two accounts at the same time.

Super screenshot lets you hold down volume down and power key, capture long screenshots or special shapes, or even record the screen. Finally, split screen opens two instances of the UI and allows two apps simultaneously.

The Nubia M2 is not like a top of the range in terms of reactivity and system fluency, but it’s a very smart smartphone. Whatever you do does never have glimpses or slow downs, but always returns a good level of experience despite being lightning-fast. Particularly in gaming with Real Racing 3 details are high and constant framerate.

Even though it is stressed, it never goes to heat. Below you can see the results obtained in the classic benchmarks .

To conclude this review of Nubia M2 , it is a smartphone that does not have the best performance available on the market for this price range and with a dual camera but it does not convince it all but compensates with a sleek design and a ‘ sample . A product not to be underestimated, especially if there are some offers.
