No room for new mobile OS
Gartner Today, the world renowned research market firm has released the numbers. It shows that Android covers 86% of the market and iOS accounts for 14% so together both are taking up almost 100%. That leaves n room for other mobile OS like windows phone and the Blackberry OS. That is why both Blackberry and Windows Phone are almost gone for good as their market share is less than 0.1%.

The Gartner Today also showed some other interesting numbers regarding mobile phone sales. Last year the mobile phone sales exceeded a staggering number of more than 1.5 billion units in the worldwide market. However the sales of mobile phones other than Android and iOS was less than 1.5 million units. This shows the sharp contrast between the two mobile phones OS as compared to others like Windows and Blackberry.
As we can see these two mobile OS are going to rule this year also because all the upcoming mobile phones other than Apple phones are based on Android. And the Apple phones are iOS based.
