There have been a lot of rumors suggesting that Microsoft will release a Surface Phone. It is suspected that Microsoft’s Surface Phone will be nothing like the conventional phones in the market today.
Microsoft Surface Phone
There have been many rumors regarding a Surface Phone now, Microsoft has kept silent on the matter. Syan Gavin, Microsoft’s general manager for Surface, has said that if there will be a surface phone, it will be nothing like the smartphones that we see today. Last year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that Microsoft has not left the mobile phone market and people can expect a really different type of a mobile device from Microsoft. Who knows if the device would even be called Surface Phone or not. “We will continue to be in the phone market not as defined by today’s market leaders, but by what it is that we can uniquely do in what is the most ultimate mobile device,” Nadella said.

We cannot be sure what to expect from Microsoft yet. Judging by Microsoft’s hints, some have claimed that Microsoft’s next phone might be called Surface Note (doesn’t sound unconventional, does it?) and it will be the debut foldable smartphone. Recently, Microsoft has applied for a patent called hinge folding plate was exposed.

Some sources have claimed Intel is heavily involved with the project. The aim is to make a smartphone which will bridge the gap between a mobile productivity device and a phone. Microsoft says it just doesn’t want to launch a product driven by competition. It wants to bring something new to the market. Let’s see how that goes.
