Lenovo MIIX 520, the company’s first Windows tablet, has been released in Europe. It is powered by an eighth-generation Intel Core i5 or i7. Its activated stylus, keyboard cover, and integrated folding stand makes it a Microsoft Surface Pro competitor. If you look at the technical data sheet, the Lenovo MIIX 520 looks pretty promising.

The tablet’s design is similar to that of the Surface Pro, but Lenovo has made a much thicker device and the air vents look good. The MIIX 520 is a high-quality tablet. Its display is 12.2 inches. An IPS panels with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels has also been installed. The viewing angles are also pretty good. However, the display could have been a little brighter. The good thing is that the screen is completely laminated.

The device is equipped with an Intel Core i5 8250U. Lenovo is offering models with i5 and i7 processors. Depending on the version you go for, you can get up to 16 GB of RAM and a maximum of one terabyte of SSD memory. Although it hasn’t been marketed as a gaming tablet, it is quite good for playing games.

Unfortunately, the battery life of MIIX 520 is not that convincing. It can last for about 7 to 8 hours and the usage time can go further time in everyday use. This is not something you expect on a tablet.

The package also includes a keyboard cover which is connected to the tablet magnetically. The keyboard can be angled so you can easily type a lot on it. There is a backlight too. But, the touchpad might be too small for some users. The included active stylus differs between 4096 pressure levels like the stylus of Microsoft Surface Pro, so it is not just suitable for writing, but for drawing too.
