Huawei Leading The Chinese Market According To IDC Report

Today’s well-known market research firm IDC released the report for the second quarter of 2017. The report pointed out that in the second quarter, mobile shipments fell 0.4% in China, but overall the domestic smart phone manufacturers have achieved varying degrees of growth. Huawei is still leading the Chinese market with 23.5 million units shipments.

Huawei shipped a total of 23.5 million smart phones this quarter, accounting for 21% of the market share. Compared to the same period in 2016, Huawei’s smartphone shipments continued to grow strongly, up 22.6% year-on-year. OPPO ranked second. Shipments grew by about 11.3% and 9.3%. Millet company ranked fourth, after five quarters of the gentle development, the saw an increase of 25%. Apple mobile phone ranked fifth, accounting for only shipments of only 800 million units. This result is also reflected in Apple’s earnings. IDC analysts believe that the second quarter of the Chinese smart phone market has picked up the phenomenon, they also made predictions for the fourth quarter of this year. Smart phones will continue to achieve significant growth, but it is difficult to exceed the level of the same period last year.

IDC in the summary of the second quarter of China’s mobile phone market put forward the following three characteristics: the purchase and low demand, the coldness of the supply market, and the decline in smart phone market shipments. Although differentiated hardware designs can help brands enhance their uniqueness in the marketplace, it is even more critical to provide new experience value or application scenarios through new technology applications, said Jenny, research manager at IDC China. The overall screen design is planning to ensure that the product is available to the market, providing users with a full screen based on the use of the scene, and upgrade the experience.

IDC report predicts that after Apple’s full-screen product release, China’s smart phone manufacturers will also launch a variety of full-screen series of products. A new round of mobile phone innovation will follow the escalation of the use of experience. Mobile phone shipments decreased by 1.3% globally in the second quarter of 2017, but Apple, Oppo,  Xiaomi, Samsung, and Huawei gained share.

Samsung shipped more phones than any other vendor in the second quarter of 2017. Apple shipped half the number of phones that Samsung did. Oppo, Xiaomi, and Huawei shipped more than they did last year. Samsung’s market share increase by 0.6%. IDC think that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus have done really well. Samsung’s A and J series also did pretty well. Apple’s sales increased by 0.3%. Huawei performed pretty well. In fact, some are even comparing Huawei to Apple now! Oppo’s sales increased by 1.5% and Xiaomi’s sales increased by 2.3%.
