Google Says Pixel 2 XL Burn-in Is Within The Normal Range, Extends Warranty To Two Years

Google Corporation today responded to the Pixel 2 XL’s burn-in problem. Google’s official said the current Pixel 2 XL burning screen situation is within a normal level. At the same time, in order to deal with quality problems, Google will extend Pixel 2 XL warranty to two years.

In the fault investigation report, Google pointed out that Pixel 2 XL mobile phone screen burn-in probability is at the same level as other high-end mobile phones. Therefore, the emergence of this problem does not impact the phone usability in any way. Prior to this incident, the phone warranty time was one year. Due to this problem, Google has decided to extend Pixel 2 XL warranty time to two years.

Google also mentioned that there will be a software update in the future to further enhance the user experience, and improve the OLED display life. After that, Pixel 2 XL will also be further optimized for mobile phone software. Recently, Google met a lot of bad luck. In addition to Pixel 2 XL quality problems, Google seems to be having a problem with logistics too. Recently, a user complained to Google, that he had just received a new Pixel 2 that had failed the quality tests.

The user said he opened the box and was surprised to find a blue note. The note says ‘surface damage’, ‘physical damage’ and ‘can not boot’ and some other things. After checking the phone, the user found no problems but still contacted Google as he did not want to take any risks. Google team said they have not encountered such a situation and gave the user another phone.
