Although Google is in the middle of Pixel 2 Xl burn-in drama right now, it hasn’t stopped it from preparing Pixel 3. Droidlife broke the news that Google has developed Pixel 3 models and code-named it crosshatch.

At the same time in the AOSP discussion area, some users also talked about the equipment of crosshatch. The phone will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 8nm chip.

In addition to “crosshatch”, users also said the other new models there are “albacore” and “blueline”. These models will manifest into two high-end flagship machines. Pixel 3 is expected to release in October 2018. It will come with a preinstalled Android 9.0 system. The phone will have  afingerprint eader too. In April, a list of Google harware names such as Walleye (pixel 2) and Taimen (Pixel 2 XL) were revealed. Interestingly, the names Blueline and Crosshatch were also on that list! These were refrenced on AOSP with regards to an audio subsystem, and also as Pixel and Qalcomm code. The listing also showed up on a “wahoo” device. Wahoo is publicly listed in the current list of Google hardware library, but it is not the codename for any upcoming Pixel device. It is basically a “reference to the unified kernel for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.” Usually, this list is not updated until a device goes live. Droid-Life says that it could have been “some sort of leftover from 2017 Google devices and is not necessarily in the 2018 group.”
