Galaxy S7 appears in a benchmarking leak and we are slightly disappointed

Samsung’s flagship smartphone, Galaxy S7 is expected to be showcased during the 2016 Mobile World Congress show that is going to take place in the month of February. The smartphone is expected to come in two chipset models, and they have been listed below:

  • Snapdragon 820
  • Exynos 8890

Samsung Galaxy S7 again

Both chipsets are manufactured on the 14nm FinFET Low Power Plus architecture, making both of them much more efficient as opposed to their predecessors. While we are on the subject of Galaxy S7, the latest benchmarking leak of the smartphone has popped up on Geekbench and while both scores are much higher compared to what Exynos 7420 was able to achieve, we were slightly disappointed with what we can see. The scores have been listed below:

  • Geekbench single-core score: 1873
  • Geekbench multi-core score: 5946

This could be for testing purposes, but seeing as how the smartphone is most probably going to be unveiled new month, we will be waiting for more follow ups related to the benchmarking scores of the device. According to more details, Galaxy S7 is going to be running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, and we sincerely hope that the smartphone will be running a much more refined TouchWiz interface. When we say refined, we mean a smartphone that is not pre-loaded with a multitude of applications and it features the same fluidity that stock Android offers.


While we know that Samsung has been trying its level best to reduce the resource consumption attribute of its custom interface, we sincerely doubt that the company is going to remove all bloatware from its upcoming Galaxy S7. Regardless, one can only pray that Samsung comes to its senses and we will be updating you on all the news revolving around the company’s flagship smartphone. Though those scores might not be a clear indication of the device’s performance, a handset sporting a Snapdragon 820 or even an Exynos 8890 will mean that it will pack quite a lot of power.
