The Korean electronics giants Samsung could clearly prefer an early launch of its big new flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to gain an edge in competition with Apple while absorbing the alleged sluggish demand for the Galaxy S9. Benchmarks and Samsung’s own website has fueled new rumors.

According to a report by the Korean portal The Investor, Samsung intends to begin production of the new Galaxy Note9 OLED panels in April. In earlier issues of the Phablet smartphone, screen production almost always started in June, suggesting that earlier production starts to point to a change in Samsung’s timing.

According to the report, Samsung plans a 6.38-inch display, which would be more than the 6.32-inch panel of the predecessor model. Apparently, Samsung has now decided against the integration of a fingerprint reader under the display and will instead put a conventional fingerprint reader on the back. The phone will probably have the iris scanner for unlocking too.
