WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton said in a tweet that after the public learned that British analyst firm Cambridge Analytica has used profiles from many Facebook users to support US President Donald Trump in the election campaign, it’s time to “delete” Facebook.

Elon Musk had ironically commented on this tweet yesterday and asked what Facebook should actually be. This was followed by a wave of comments: A Twitter user called on the billionaire to remove the SpaceX page from Facebook. This request came after Elon Musk and wrote that he did not know that there is a Facebook page of SpaceX. Only a short time later, another user interfered and found that Tesla’s social media page should also be deleted. Again, Elon Musk responded calmly and stressed that the site is “lame” anyway and therefore he will “definitely” remove the pages. Subsequently, the two Facebook pages of SpaceX and Tesla were no longer available.

The social media managers of the two companies might not have liked the action at all. The Facebook pages each had more than 2.6 million followers and were even very actively used according to Techcrunch. The short time required to remove the pages can be considered as noteworthy. An official statement from Tesla and SpaceX is still pending. It, therefore, remains completely unclear how Elon Musk was able to assign this task of deleting the pages within a very short time.
