Dolphins are human friendly animals. They are cute and put up a good dolphin show. One thing about the dolphins that has always intrigued humans is the way they communicate with each other. Dolphins have a sophisticated communication system and it has been having sort of conversation with each other. Now a Swedish startup claims to have started research that might help us understand the Dolphin Speech within the next few years.
Dolphin speech analysis
Using the AI based language analysis software that has already attained the status of a pro by learning 40 languages, now the attention has been turned towards non human language. The language analysis company by the name of Gavagai AB, that comprises of researchers from the reputable Swedish institute KTH Royal Institute of Technology, claims that it will start compiling a dictionary related to Dolphin Language analysis through their software. The software will monitor captive bottlenose dolphins at a wildlife park about 90 miles south of Stockholm, the company said in an emailed statement Wednesday.

What will be the use of Dolphin language analysis? Right now there is no monetary benefit listed as such but according to the researchers it is fascinating and innovative experience and they want to try it out. Once the research ( a four year project) is done and humans become capable of understanding language, the next step might be to make the dolphins understand our language because two way conversation is only possible when both parties understand each other. According to Jucci Karlgren, the co-founder of Gavagai institute and an adjunct professor at KTH institute
“We hope to be able to understand dolphins with the help of artificial intelligence technology…We know that dolphins have a complex communication system, but we don’t know what they are talking about yet.”
