The nail art trend has been on the rise since quite some time now and is being much loved by young girls, teenagers, adults and a number of celebrities. Whether you’re fond of it or not, it surely is a trend which will be staying around for now. One of the greatest misconceptions regarding nail art is that you either have to get it at a salon, or you need some expensive tools and lots of practice to do it yourself. Trust me, that is so not the case and in this post I’ll be sharing some of the simplest tips on how you can do nail art yourself with the things you already have at home.
So if you’re a beginner and want to pamper your nails, then all you need to do is collect these tools from around your house: Some toothpicks, bobby pins and if you have an old eye-liner brush, or even a small paint brush would work fine. If you feel your hands are not steady yet and you end up with shaky designs, I suggest you go for toothpicks rather than brushes at the start. And last but not the least, you’ll be needing something to use as your palette, this can be some old unused plate and if you cant find anything else just go for a piece of paper.
Now here are some simple looks which you can practice with these tools:
Dotted Nails- Ideal for the spring/summer look
Apply some light coloured nail polish as the base, such as off-white, peach or pink and wait for it to dry.
Meanwhile, place drops of two or three bright coloured nail polishes on your palette, you can easily do this with the nail polish brush. Just dip the brush in the nail colour and place a drop on your palette.
Now once your base has dried up, use the bobby pin to place small dots of each colour on the nail in a random pattern.
Keep practising with different colours and different sized dots to find the best combination and styles for your nails.
Striped nail art
You can also use the toothpicks or brushes to create striped looks and combine them to make beautiful designs. If your hands aren’t steady yet, try practising with waves instead of straight lines.
So just keep practising till you reach perfection and you’ll eventually start coming up with beautiful designs on your own. Just remember to clean up any mess around the nails and apply the clear top coat at the end and pretty soon you’ll find this to be a surprisingly easy art. Happy practising!
