Is the Bitcoin Creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, None Other Than Elon Musk?

Nov 27, 2017 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

To solve the mystery of the origin of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, a former employee of the space company SpaceX has contributed a new theory: The developer of the system behind Bitcoin, of which so far only the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto is known, should be none other than Elon Musk.

Elon Must Bitcoin

For the thesis of Sahil Gupta, a computer science student at Yale University, who has long held an internship position at SpaceX, speaks some points. However, as long as no concrete evidence can be presented, this theory must be treated with due care. After all, there were in the last few years again and again very concrete suspicions about the person behind the Nakamoto pseudonym, but ultimately always turned out to be relatively baseless.

In any case, according to Gupta, Musk has the technical skills to make a system like Bitcoin a reality. The software behind the currency was written in C ++, a language that Musk uses, again and again, to make his projects – even if many others do. Publicly verifiable – in his theoretical report on the transport system Hyperloop – Musk’s knowledge in the field of cryptography and economic theory, which are necessary for the establishment of such a monetary system.

It was also pointed out in the thesis that Musk already had experience with the online financial world. After all, he is one of the founders of the payment service PayPal and laid with his sale to eBay 15 years ago, the foundation for his fortune. An experiment like Bitcoin would also fit into his search for a solution to a variety of problems. After all, the cryptocurrency emerged in 2008, when the last major global economic crisis broke out.

Gupta also sees evidence of his theory in the fact that Musk responded to interview requests for his view on Bitcoin always very deliberately and reserved. Add to that a pretty cryptic tweet from 2014 when a user questioned him about his general opinion on cryptocurrencies.Musk answered at the time only that the matter now, since Satoshi Nakamoto is unmasked, simply settled.

But there are also points that speak against Gupta’s theory. This is how Musk has repeatedly described 2008 as a pretty bad time. His adventures SpaceX and Tesla were struggling with significant issues back then and it is questionable if Musk had any time to study the theoretical foundations of bitcoins. It is also questionable for skeptics whether a person who is so strongly in the public eye can really keep such a secret for a long time.
