Nokia banked on the nostalgia feature for its 3310 phone revival last year. It was a successful move and it proved to be so good that this year too Nokia did the same. Nokia 8110 – The Banana Phone

The banana phone

The cool Nokia  8110 comes equipped with 4G and in two colors. One is the usual black color and the other is extremely eye catching bright yellow. Because of this bright yellow color, people are fondly calling the Nokia 8110 the Banana phone. If you are a fan of matrix movie franchise you must remember this mobile phone as it was extensively used in the movie. Thus the other nickname, the matrix phone.

As you can see in the images it is a flip design phone. The keypad is hidden and comes in view once the top covering it is flipped downwards. We are really loving the little bendable design that makes the flip as well as the holding of the mobile phone easier. The phone is based on KaiOS and not the Android OS like the Nokia 3110. The phone does not have a touch screen. According to its manufacturers, there was a hot debate over the putting in of the touch screen or not, in the end the traditional and classical look won the people over and the keypad only configuration was resumed for the new version. The banana phone has 2.45-inch display with a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels. It is based on Snapdragon 205. It has dual sim and the connectivity options include dual SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G and 4G.

Some cool features of the phone include LTE, Google Assistant and Google Maps, Twitter and Facebook apps, Snake the Nokia signature, and a promised standby time of 25 days.

So if you are a 90s buff, you are going to love it. If you are on a budget, you are definitely going to love it. It is especially great for people who want to keep things simple but still have all the basic functionality.
