A US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) recently released screen patent shows that Apple is developing a collapsible screen, which means that an iPhone with a folding screen is not far from us.

Apple described in the patent application an electronic device that has a bendable portion that allows the device to be folded. The device is equipped with a flexible screen that has a bendable area. When the device is folded, the screen is also bent with the bending axis.

If the news is true, then Apple may have switched to the microLED screen.Compared with the OLED screen, the microLED screen has almost all the advantages of the OLED screen, while increasing brightness and saturation, plus energy consumption is lower.

In fact, as early as a year ago there were reports that Apple is working with LG Dis to develop collapsible OLED panels. Last month there were reports that Apple and LG in cooperation to develop collapsible OLED screen for the iPhone. In addition, Apple also considered investing in the LG factory.
