Analyst does not believe that Helio X20 version of Meizu PRO 5 will enter the market

Sep 24, 2015 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

With Meizu PRO 5 officially available to purchase from its website, there are speculations on whether or not a Helio X20 powered version is going to be released in the near future. While Exynos 7420 is a very powerful chipset to be present in a smartphone, Helio X20 is far more capable than Samsung’s 14nm FinFET chip. According to an analyst called Pan Jiutang, who frequently posts on Weibo, states that he is highly skeptical of seeing a Helio X20 version of Meizu PRO 5 this year for a number of reasons.

For one thing, the chipset is processed on a 20nm node, which obviously means that it is much cheaper to manufacturer when compared to Exynos 7420 and is also able to deliver much more performance. This will cause the Helio X20 version to be priced much cheaper than the one that has already been released, which might lead to reduced sales in the future.

However, Pan has not completely given up hope on Meizu because he states that if there is a slight chance for Helio X20 to be found in the smartphone, it will most likely be found during 2016. In this way, the Exynos 7420 version would have sold sufficient units by then, and afterwards, the MediaTek chipset will be able to create a market for itself.

LG NEXUS again

Meizu PRO 5 is already looking to be a strong contender against Samsung’s Galaxy S6 lineup, as well as Galaxy Note 5. This is because unlike Samsung’s smartphones, Meizu PRO 5 actually comes with a microSD card slot with a storage expansion limit of 128GB on both the 3GB and 4GB RAM models. Also, both models are much cheaper than any current Galaxy smartphone, making it a much better purchase for consumers at this time.

It will be slightly more expensive than its original retail price when the smartphone enters foreign markets, but Meizu Pro 5 is still a much better purchase than its competition.
