If you have not been able to get your favorite products yet, you can wait a bit for the purchase of a new Ryzen processor.Because in February AMD wants to bring the next generation on the market, which was developed under the code name Pinnacle Ridge and should bring some improvements.

AMD Ryzen 2

The fact that the upcoming Ryzen issue is expected in the course of the first quarter was basically already known. However, such vague information sometimes also means that at the end of the quarter, perhaps an expensive top model is available and the chips for the mass market come rather later. This should not be the case here. The top Ryzen 7 processors of the next generation should be there at the end of February, and then in March also the cheaper Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 models.

This is at least from leaked information from MeoPC . While the current Summit Ridge chips are being produced using the 14-nanometer process, the upcoming processors will be manufactured using GlobalFoundries’ new 12-nanometer production lines. Not only are the structures finer, but the slightly redesigned Zen + architecture is also used. In addition to higher clock rates and lower energy requirements, there will also be support for higher clock frequencies for the connected DDR4 RAMs.

In conjunction with the new Ryzen processors, AMD also provided a revised chipset for the 400 series. However, work continues with the AM4 sockets. Since new motherboards will probably come on the market in March, early buyers of the new Ryzen 7 can also use this on existing systems, a BIOS update to produce the appropriate compatibility. However, the chips appearing in the first quarter are once again intended for use in desktop systems. Variants with reduced power consumption and notebook chips will not be available until April. And the second generation of Ryzen Pro will come in May.
